The troubadour Kristian   *   Serenades    *    Accordions   and   Harmoniums  -   Tuning  and  Repair
  Music

As we have said elsewhere, playing an incorrectly sounding instrument works badly on nerves :) (reciprocally of the Noble impact which the playing of exquisite music has on our Brains)
* Accordions and reed organs (harmoniums) go out of tune if there is:
- oxidation or rust on a tune tongue (reed) which is provoked by humidity or acidity in the air of some regions since the air goes under pressure through the reeds and after the chemical reaction the new layer has additional weight that makes the sound lower;
- intensive air pressure to the reeds when forced by players apt to fortissimo since severe bending produces cold/hammer hardening;
- such production habit of using metals that change their elasticity very much with aging (here we have to blame only the instrument producing company :)

Avoid direct sun light on the instrument because:
- it increases the temperature on the surface thus expanding the wooden cabinet and disengaging the glue joints;
- it ruins the plastic elements making them britle because of the UV spectrum;
- it changes the humidity of the non-metal details from very moistly (dilating) to extremely dry (shrinking) while the metal parts remain unchanged with all the negative consequences of it.

* Please, never put pressure (i.e. never pick up only one part of the accordion while the other is loose not strapped with both leashes) without pressing key for sound or release valve, since it makes excessive overload on the connection points and breaks or cracks them not immediately but slowly as the cracks usually grow.

IMPORTANT!!!
If any part is broken, please find it and keep it (with all the broken particles) so that the precise size and shape is seen and measured and even maybe repaired without the very expensive catalog import from far and away abroad.
Details in musical instruments are not standardized as in the car spare parts catalogues and differ very much even in the models of one and the same firm, company or manufacturer.

Careful storage will prevent any of these problems that are very difficult to repair:
